MP – NZ – Hon Annette King

Prime Minister Key, Ministers Bennett, Turia and MP King,

With respect it seems none of you want to listen to those of us pleading for URGENT attention to our FAMILY troubles.

For MP King to suggest Labour arrested our FAMILY troubles with Working for Families is outright lies. While Sharing the Parenting of my Son Javan, IRD gave me half Family Support – I was most grateful for the $42-00 per week as it was the ONLY help the Govt gave me while fully funding his Mother to do half the job for nine years until I gave up under the stress of Parenting on a Single Persons Invalid Benefit – Now that I care for our Son full time many years later IRD gives me $43.15 – A gain of $1.15 from Annette Kings claim to assist FAMILIES – What lies.

For Minister Bennett to suggest the situation has improved is a little naïve – The Stats may have improved slightly in some areas but so have many got worse – Until we take out ALL that damages our FAMILIES from NZ FAMILY Law and Social Policy the bad Stats will increase – A very good start would be to remove ALL gender bias and Enshrine **Preferential Equal Shared Parenting** deep within NZ FAMILY Law and Social Policy.

I commend Minister Turia for her more informed comment

High teen suicide rate in NZ confirmed

Updated at 5:20pm on 3 September 2009

An OECD report on child poverty confirms New Zealand has the highest rate of suicide in the developed world.

High teenage suicide and infant mortality rates, coupled with low immunisation rates, were key features identified in the report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

It ranked New Zealand 29th out of its 30 members for children’s health and safety, just beating Turkey.

The report suggests suicide rates for New Zealanders between the ages of 15 and 19 years are well ahead of countries such as Ireland, Canada and the United States.

However, the Health Ministry says although New Zealand’s youth suicide is the highest amongst developed countries, it has come down nationally.

Child and Youth Health chief adviser Pat Tuohy says the Suicide Prevention Strategy introduced three years ago is making a difference.

The report’s co-author Dominic Richardson told Nine to Noon the statistics for New Zealand are poor, considering it is more wealthy than some other countries in the OECD.

The report also suggests high rates of child poverty and teen pregnancy in New Zealand. Mr Richardson says though New Zealand spends more than many other countries on older children, this spending is not being focused on problem areas.

The Child Poverty Action Group says the report comes as no surprise and though there have been some improvements, it is concerned the recession will undo what progress has been made.

Government has taken action – Bennett

Politicians say the OEDC report on child poverty makes for grim reading.

Social Development Minister Paula Bennett agrees the report does not look good, but says the situation has improved since the data for the report was collected in 2003.

Ms Bennett says the Government has already taken action, but says it is not just about throwing money at the problem.

The Labour Party’s Annette King says the dismal trends identified in the report were the reasons it launched the Working for Families package when it was in government.

She says Labour also introduced before school and at birth checks, but agrees there is more work to be done.

Maori Party’s co-leader Tariana Turia says the report confirms what the party has been saying about the plight of New Zealand’s children.

    MP Annette King,

    CC, Ministers Bennett and Turia

    To answer your reply below.

I have given you the facts below as they affected Me and my Son and thousands like us, me on a Single Persons Invalids Benefit under your regime for which you are well aware. At least National have given me Parent Invalids Benefit, I fight on to get the rest allocated to bring up my Son now that his MOTHER has run yet again.

Would you like me to find the letters to you personally wrote me, to remind you.

You did NOTHING to help knowing full well I was getting NOTHING to Father my Son from WINZ even though we had established FAMILY Court Ordered **Equal Parenting** years before I needed WINZ.

As noted below LABOUR gave me and 1000’s of others in similar situation who desperately need help a whole $1-15 a week.

You and your fellow LABOUR MP’s dame near destroyed my FAMILY

    Oh yes Annette YOU lie.

130,000 Families of whom most do NOT NEED the assistance compared to those who DO.

The comments I made are not lies. Working For Families provides considerable assistance to those who are working. In fact far more assistance than could be given through tax cuts which is why Mr Key kept WFFs. I gather you are now on a benefit. Over 130,000 families have been assisted by WWF. But I do agree more can be done. Let’s hope Ms Bennett and Mr Key decide to make children a priority.

    More from MP Annette King,
    CC, Ministers Bennett and Turia

Annette, you continue with obscure word smiting below.

LABOUR and its Anti-FAMILY Purveyors within Bureaucracy deliberately withheld and still withhold funds from me and 1000’s of others to Father their Children.

LABOUR invented the WFF to purchase votes from the already Rich and Famous – It has NOT helped poorer families one bit – My situation further explained below more than proves what I am saying.

LABOUR was once a strong and very necessary party to place the workers point of view higher in Government – That is now far from the case with LABOUR now being perverted by wrong agenda and thus our FAMILIES suffer.

NATIONAL are stuck with LABOURS failed policy as it too would receive a huge reduction in support if it withdrew WFF from the Rich and Famous who saw thru LABOURS skulduggery and kicked you out of the bastions of power.

The sooner John-K and team take their full attention from our troubled economy and place more attention on the REAL woes of our Nation caused by FAMILY Law, Social Policy, HELENGrad hangover within its purveyors, the sooner our FAMILYS will be strengthened and thus our Nation.

Enshrining **Preferential Equal Shared Parenting** deep within FAMILY Law and Social Policy to strengthen and protect our **Whole Natural Biological FAMILIES** from the Anti-FAMILY brigade is the way forward.

I am not yet thrilled with NATIONAL in these matters but we seem to be moving slowly toward a better appreciation of things that matter to FAMILY and thus our Nation.

    Onward – Jim

Thank you for your email. For your info National has changed none of labours policies on beneficiary entitlements except to cut the TIA and dump scholarships so anything you now receive were labours initiatives. Sorry about that.
