James Semerad works exceptionally hard every day to ensure that families receive justice and fairness. James has deeply studied the issues of Domestic Violence working closely with RADAR (Respecting Accuracy in Domestic Abuse Reporting) Domestic violence awareness has increased dramatically with federal funding via the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). What is considered domestic violence and the consequences are often misunderstood. Mr. Semerad can clarify the definition and myths of domestic violence, provide guidance on addressing the consequences, and provide an update on the current shift in the administration of the law. James Semerad is a Commander in the U.S. Naval and leads programs on Family Readiness and Domestic Violence. James has studied family and children’s issues for more than 15 years following the research work of the Department of Health and Human Services, Heritage Foundation, American Psychological Association, and leading university programs on social work. He participated in the introduction and review of family law and Shared Parenting legislation and served on Legislative committees. He has testified and spoken on numerous occasions to the legal and judicial community, Legislators, and community service organizations on issues ranging from children best interests, domestic violence, support, divorce, and custody. He served many years as Chairman of DADS of Michigan Political Action Committee (PAC) and serves on several organization Board including RADAR (Respecting Accuracy in Domestic Abuse Reporting). Mr. Semerad works as an Information Technology Consultant and supported Vision IT, Hewlett Packard, and EDS helping fortune 200 companies leverage technology and supply chain management, globally. Mr. Semerad completed a Bachelors of Science degree and MBA from Louisiana Tech University.
